About Modelling.....
|
Child modelling can be extremely rewarding for both the
child and the parent. The income that can be earned
cannot be dismissed, as a child can earn anything from
the minimum hourly rate, right up to thousands of pounds
for just a day's work. Although the financial gain
should not be ignored, the opportunity to meet new and
interesting people, coupled with the satisfaction of
seeing your child on television, in a magazine, on a
leaflet or on a billboard, can often far outweigh any
fee that can be earned. Modelling can be extremely
exciting and great fun, but it should always be
remembered that it is to be the child’s profession, so
should be approached professionally. |
 |
Clients approach Wee Ones
Models with wide and varied requests for all
types of children. Children, therefore, do not need to
be the typical model type child, but do need to be able
to take on the task in hand i.e. take direction, enjoy
what they are doing and get on with other children,
adults and strangers, with the emphasis being upon the
child enjoying what they are doing!
"Can an
agency guarantee work?"
Any agency
that guarantees work to any of its models should be
avoided. An agencies duty to its clients is to create a
full and varied portfolio of up-to-date models, then to
advertise the agency (therefore its models) adequately
to the industry.
No
agency can know what assignment is going to arrive on
their desk from one day to the next, so needs to ensure
that they can supply whatever the client is asking for,
hence the reason to produce a full portfolio upon
demand. If a client asks for a selection of 6 month old
babies, then, naturally, teenagers could not be
considered for submission, and visa versa.
The
client makes the decision as to what they are looking
for and not the agency. Likewise, once the agency has
submitted a selection of children to the client, the
choice as to which of those children are actually
selected is down to the client and not the agency.
This
is why no agency can guarantee work to any child that it
represents. A reputable agency will only accept a child
if they feel that the child would be a valuable asset to
their portfolio, but should not be blamed if the client
does not confirm them whilst with the agency.
If
you think your child would be a suitable candidate for
our agency, simply complete the application form on the
Join Wee Ones page.
We
are currently looking for suitable children, of all
types and personalities.
PLEASE
ADHERE TO THESE SIMPLE RULES!
|
1. |
It is
VERY IMPORTANT that you arrive at jobs
and castings ON TIME. |
|
2. |
Always try
to limit the number of companions that you
take with you to a shoot. It is acceptable
for other members of the family to attend,
however, please remember studios only have a
limited space and too many extra people get
in the way. |
|
3. |
If your
baby is ill and cannot make it to a casting
or job you MUST let us know immediately.
|
|
4. |
Please
make sure children arrive looking good with
clean hair and clothes. |
|
5. |
Always
inform us of the following: Holiday dates
New sizes/heights New shoe sizes New hair
cuts Information regarding babies
development / or anything you may feel is
relevant to us. |
|
6. |
Call us
after every job with times worked as most
bookings are open-ended (excluding Castings
of course) and ensure that you always
complete the release form / time sheet that
will be issued to you that day. |
|
7. |
Take
snacks/drinks/food along for your child. Do
not rely on clients to feed you on jobs
although most of them do if you are booked
all day. Clients cannot be expected to
supply food for babies or chaperones with
special dietary needs. |
|
8. |
Please
take along books/games etc. to keep your
child occupied. There may be long gaps
between shots and they could become bored.
|
|
9. |
Please
remember it is the chaperones responsibility
to look after his or her child at a shoot.
It is also their responsibility to ensure
that they behave themselves properly as poor
conduct could result in the loss of future
contracts for our company. |
|
10. |
Wee Ones
models reserve the right to remove any child
from the Site/agency.
Poor or rude conduct displayed by any parent
towards any client, other child/parent at
audition, or agency staff member, would also
fall within this 'right to remove' category.
The agencies decision is final. |
|
11. |
If you are
approached by another agent please advise
us, if your approached to do work without
the Agencies knowledge we hold the
right to remove you from our books |
Our business operation is very simple.
 |
We only issue payment upon receipt of client's
payments. |
 |
We
must inform you that some clients take up to 6
months to settle their account. |
 |
We
receive a request from the client for a specific
assignment, together with audition and venue
details. |
 |
We
submit a child, or selection of children that meet
the criteria. |
 |
Upon
confirmation from the client, we then call that
child's parent/guardian with this information and
confirm their attendance. |
 |
We
will tell you of any particular dress code that has
been stipulated. |
 |
Which
company the casting is for and the exact times and
dates for when you will be required for the shoot
should your child be successful. |
 |
We do ask
that if you are approached by another
agent/third party you let us know and if
you sign up with another agent you also
let us know. |
 |
As a model
of Wee Ones Models please note we do
deduct a % of earnings discussed at the
time of booking. All fees
are to be dealt with via Wee Ones Models
direct with the client and not via
yourselves
|
You
need do nothing else but call us at the beginning
of each month with any changes to the measurements of
your child for our computer system.
Parents of younger children should also send in up-dated
shots as and when necessary for their website directory.
The selection for any part is not made by Wee
Ones Models it is always made by the Casting
Director.
Our duty as an agency is to provide suitable children
who fit the specifications given to us by the client.
There is nothing more a parent need do, other then
ensure they keep their mobile phone switched on at all
times and put the answer-phone on at home when they are
out. A child’s booker must be able to reach a parent at
all times.
NB:
Castings and shoots for school age children are normally
arranged outside of school hours. The agency will obtain
a license for your child.
